I had to be drug tested to become employed by my employer; why shouldn't someone who is taking money off of tax paying citizens be held to the same standard. Totally agree with this.

Since 1991 I have had to pass a drug screen to get hired at every job I have been at. Have also had to make myself available at any time for random drug screens. I consider this a reasonable condition of employment since the company is investing a lot of money and time in me as a fulltime employee. To those who say it infringes on people's rights I say what rights would that be. If they can't pass a drug screen it is because they are either doing one of 2 things. Using drugs that have been declared illegal by law, or misusing prescription drugs they have obtained illegally. How can a person on welfare ever get a job if they can't pass a drug screen as a condition of employment. At least this way they would be clean when they interviewed. At some point we need to quit worrying so much about infringing on individual rights and start demanding individual responsibility as a condition of living in this great American society.

I do know that if I'm on welfare and I have to choose between food or crack, I'm going with food any day of the week. That's just me, though.

Agree 100%. Many people on Welfare take advantage of labor-free income and spend it on unnecessary things. Drug testing must be done to people on Welfare.

I agree 110% with drug testing. Most of these people would fail and wouldn't be able to use my hard earned tax dollars for drugs and booze.

Welfare is a free ride for men to shirt having to go to work. They have a lot of babies and receive benefits with no desire to do better. Sometimes they will work under the table for something they want personally and let the state cover there burden of there support. I know unemployment is up but a lot of the people on walfare are gang bangers who deal drugs and driver better cars than I do. They go to jail. We pay walfare for the babies. Then we pay for them in be in jail so drug testing might be less expensive than Jail time and welfare. When does this insanity end and where is the insentive to do better begin. They want respect,but It isn't earned by not being a productive member of society.
