Although bow wow vs. meow makes a fine argument, I have to agree with princessmel on this one. As far as being useful to society, dogs win, paws down.

Dogs are so much better than cats. Who wants an animal that makes you feel unloved and unwanted, when you can have a dog that will do anything for you!

I love Dogs with all my heart. I despise cats I've been bitten and scratched by cats. They freakin' stink up your house with their litter box. They kill birds, which is gross. and they're lazy. Dogs go outside to use the bathroom. They can be sleepy and stay out of your hair, or energetic and are a ton of fun. what's the fun in a cat, you tease them with their stupid toys, that's a TON of fun. NOT.

Ah, I could never agree with this. Although I appreciate and respect all animals, I could never own a dog. They smell SO bad. And I hate how they lick people, yuck. I love my cats, and I don't care if they guard my house or benefit society. They listen to me and make me less depressed... I guess that's what matters

Dogs are better becuase they can guard their house. There bark is like an alarm for any danger they even help the police for trails, drugs and lots more. They're not scared of anything but a cat, if it sees danger or any person, it runs away and have you ever seen a cat guarding a house. In my opinion you can play fetch with dogs, walk a dog and they'll always be around.

In my opinion I think that dogs are better than cats because dogs are more active and like to sit on peoples laps dogs are more friendly than cats because cats barley sit on peoples laps while dogs do and cats like to sleep all day and dogs like to be played with and play catch while cats can't catch a frisbee.
Dogs will alarm you if their is a fire or a burgler is in the house the dog would bark while cats would either run away or meow. I think cats are not the best kind of pets but in my opinion i think dogs are the better pet than cats. In My Opinion I Think Dogs Are Better Than Cats
because if there was someone in your house that was a burglar the dog would be there and would warn you that there was an imposter that is not wanted in their house. Dogs are more active unlike cats because you dont see a cat playing in the park as much as you see dogs. Dogs can also check if a person who enters the house to see if they have drugs, guns, or knives, and they take it out of they're pockets. Dogs are protective as well as very social they like to play more with their owners but cats, all they ever do really is just sleep! Cats walk around the street looking for friends but they fail, while dogs have fun playing with they're friends around the neighbourhood.

I agree that dogs are better because they gaurd your house and help you with lots of things in your normal life for example I saw a dog bringing in shopping bags for its owner, have you ever seen a cat do that? Dogs also help in social life; police dogs, mountain dogs, rescue dogs and many more. Cats are more on the lazy side, sleep to 12 o'clock and then just lie around doing not much. Dogs are active and have fun with they're owner. They are always alarming with their outrageous loud barks. The faithful companions never get bored of they're owner. Dogs hardly run away, the only reason a dog would run away is if the owner beats him, dosent feed him or dosent give him water and attention, thats why we have picked the dogs and not cats.

in my opinion dogs are better than cats. First of all they are very helpful and they make great job conpanions, they help with crime scenes they can track down burgulars and criminals. Plus they also help blind people throughout the day.They are funloving , active and love long walks.yet they tend to bark it is usually for warning. they are protective for they're owners and will stand up for you in times of danger, they are strong and tough and are capable to protect you from most danger, on the other hand cats will coward away from danger.hygeine wise cats may be cleaner but they're litter box it make the area it is in smell yet dogs will do they're buisness out side.

In my opinion I think that dogs are better than cats, well firstly because they are helpful to humans for example:they help blind people walk in streets, they help police in their jobs etc. Dogs are active, loyal and trustworthy, adding to that if a theif got into your house the dog will eventually bark to wake you up to warn you. Studys have shown that a dog is a man's best friend! i strongly agree, in my opinion dogs are much better than cats. Dogs help blind people cats are not helpful because they dont meow when a burglar comes into your house. Dogs will tend to bark when spots a burglar. cats may be cuddly however dogs are more loving and playful. whats the point in having a cat when all you do is feed it and forget about it because they are very lazy and they dont to much besides sleeping, and walking around. you can trust dogs you can train them easily, not to mention cats carry more than 20 diseases in their body.

I Iike most animals, BUT 99.9% of cats are considered pests, mooches and unpredictable mood swings. It is almost impossible to train cats, unless your some kind of old retiered cat person with an unsuccesfull life and relationship, these kind of people are normally fond in a run down shack with about 50 cats abundant in filth.Dog however are easy to train if you know how, dogs are also eager to learn and never forget what they been taught.Most dog are very pretty and they are independant but also enjoy the company of others on the other hand cats can live on their own which isn't a good thing because this means that they arn't bothered if they have company or not an so they don't really enjoy the company of a human as much as a dog would. As cats are reluctant to do any thing that seens out of the ordinary, no matter what their owners tell them what to do, where as dogsput into acount that what thier owners tell them to do is for a reason and so they believe and trust thier owners.Dogs are loyal and can sence danger this makes them the ideal pet!!

Dogs can help blind people to know where they are going therefore we think it is better to have a dog than a cat as a pet. Plus dogs are more active and play with you more than a cat will. Also, dogs help human beings by making sure nobody gets inside the house while a cat would just run away being a scary cat. Firstly I'd like to respond to roxi's coment .HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT!?!I mean have you even heard the saying '' man's best friend'? Well I believe that there is a reason.Cats may have emotion but so do dogs, infact dogs have a calming effect, thats the reason why they bring them into care homes because a dog that is trained well calms people that may be dying and makes them happy.And its a good thing that you have to walk them every day because it keeps you healthy so are you saying that you can't be bothered to walk less than a mile twice a day surley you all want to stay healthy infact you should be doing more than that each day any way! When you are sad and maybe crying dogs put up with it and give you simpithy for at least 24 hours where as cats put up with it for about 5 mins untill they decide to bite or scratch a mouse could do a better job of defending a house than a cat, have you even seen a cat save a live? NO! Why?Becuase they are selfish they almost seem unable to play WITH somone, NOT somthing however dogs are more like us, they need company. I personaly think dogs are a better pet than cats because they don't take as long to train, they are a loyal companion, playful,a trusty friend, they are also used to help the blind, the police and a lot more jobs.
They can also be used in all kinds of competions such as... looks, how well have been trained, racing to test speed and many more.

Hello ,i love dogs so much and i also have one .Well dogs are way better because they are playful and are very friendly. Most breeds are very cute but sometimes they come scary for guarding which protect you. Not all dog bite but some do .Dogs sometimes come as helping blind people or a special need person.Dogs also save lifes and help people in others.Dogs are also can enter competitions of racing.Police dogs are for police which smell drugs and bombs.Dogs can really help humans in helping them by the human taking them for a walk which helps in lossing weight.Dogs are better than cats

Dogs are better than cats, it says it in the title doesn't it? Cats get lost very easily. Dogs are very athletic as well! You can take them to the beach and not worry about them drowning. Whereas cats are not even permitted on most beaches. Dogs do their business outside whereas cats make the house smell bad with their litter boxes. Cats you can't do much like Doggon Wild said. You can't take them out for a walk or a run which can make you unhealthy and they play inside most of the time, therefore having to have expensive jungle gyms. Dogs are great because they can guide blind people, defend humans and sniff out drugs. The police and fire brigade use them. Have you ever seen dogs in the airport? I'd like to see a cat do that. Why would you like such a spoiled animal? Furthermore, people go with the small cats since they're 'cuter'. If they're small they can get run over by a car. A friend of mine had a cat that got run over and had to have a leg amputated. Oh! Guard dogs, that's another thing. If you live somewhere like America there can be a lot of robberies. They protect you at night since this is the ultimate time of day for robbers to strike. Cats can carry a lot of diseases as well. I know dogs can bark a lot but if you train them right they won't. You can train them to go their food bowl and train them to do their business outside. They're also a man's best friend. They look up to man. Cats are just spoiled.

My opinion is that cats are LAZY compared to dogs, they are awesome! All cats do is sit around doing NOTHING except scratch you and ocasionally demand food by once again scratching you. Although dogs always play not hurt you. They learn to protect you and treat you like the head of the pack. And they protect us from the dreadful creations you all call "cats"
Sure cats can be lower maintence but they cant posssibly give you as much affection as a dog or a cute puppy in addition cats make me feel awkard by staring at me in a judgeful way and I cant possibly be the only person to feel this way

Hi I like dogs better than cats, because they can do loads of stuff, for example: they help blind people,and they could be police dogs.
Dogs are very loyal,intelligent,playful,and cuddly!! And dogs can gaurd your house,and they do NOT pee or poo IN the house they pee outside where as cats dont always pee where there suppos to (there litter box) if cats pee or poo in the house i would suggest not to invite people to your house as a result I LOVE DOGS MORE THAN CATS
