It just needs some time to repair itself

I see the potential for improvement but will say I firmly try to stick with American Airlines from the experiences I have had with them. My flights are regularly on time and departures and arrivals stick closely to their scheduled time, apart from weather-related delays. I flew Continental Airlines and US Airways routinely for about a year and experienced constant delays and even cancelled flights due to mechanical issues. On one occasion in particular, I was stuck in a city for 2 extra nights waiting for so-called multiple mechanical issues with aircraft to be rectified. On a Continental flight, our flight was made to wait over 1 hour while a seat was repaired. Why wasn't this passenger put in First Class to avoid delays for the rest of the plane's passengers? Apart from the light snacks I can pre-purchase in the airport myself, I don't see that I miss anything from flying Continental or US Airways. As a gold member now, I also receive added rewards for loyalty.
